From Exeter Direction (A30)

Hemyock is approximately 10 miles north of Honiton. Take the second exit for Honiton (also signed A35 Axminster). The slip road curves round to the left; the first turning on the right is signed Dunkeswell – take this turning. Stay on this road to the top of the hill (about 3 miles). Where the road bears round to the right, turn off it, going straight on signposted Wolford Chapel; Dunkeswell and Hemyock. After about a mile you will come to the village of Dunkeswell. Stay on the main road going through the old village of Dunkeswell and passing the airfield on your left. Continue on this road until you reach Hemyock. You will reach a T junction with the church on your left and the Catherine Wheel pub on your right. Go straight ahead (right turn), keep on the same road and drive through the village passing the Spar shop on the left. Go over the river, and then take the next right in to Lower Millhayes. St Ivel House is on the corner of the two roads. Turn right and right again into the car park.

From Taunton

Hemyock is approximately 10 miles southwest of Taunton town centre. Leave Taunton on Trull Road. On reaching the village of Trull take the right turn opposite the village stores to Angersleigh. Pass under the M5 and continue straight on along a narrow lane up the hill, through woodland to a T-junction at the top of the hill. Turn right and continue along the ridge road. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroads (Clayhidon and Wellington) pass the sign for Somerset Stamp Auctions on your left and at the next crossroads turn left, signposted Hemyock. As you are approaching the bottom of the steep hill into Hemyock take the second left turning into Lower Millhayes. St Ivel House is on the corner of the two roads. Turn right and right again into the car park.

Public transport

Hemyock is accessible by bus, from the neighbouring towns, but services are very limited.

From London Direction (A303)

Stay on A303 after the Southfield roundabout at Ilminster. After about 4 miles you will reach Eagle Cross – look out for the Eagle Tavern pub on your right. At the Eagle Tavern turn right signposted Taunton. Keep straight on this unclassified road for 4.5 miles until reaching the crossroads with the B3170. Cross straight over and do not turn off. You will soon reach a T Junction, turn right and pass the Homan Clavel Inn on your left. Cross straight over at the next crossroads. Continue on this road for approx. 4.5 miles until you see a sign for Somerset Stamp Auctions on your left and a National Trust car park (Quarts Moor) on your right and at the next crossroads turn left, signposted Hemyock. As you are approaching the bottom of the steep hill into Hemyock take the second left turning into Lower Millhayes. St Ivel House is on the corner of the two roads. Turn right and right again into the car park.

From M5 Northbound

Come off at Junction 27, turn right at roundabout, go over the motorway and follow the A38 towards Wellington. Continue until you see signs to the right to Culmstock/Hemyock (B3391) – turn right. Carry on to the village of Culmstock, go over the river, past the village shop and then after 50 metres turn left to Hemyock. Continue to Hemyock, keep on the same road and drive through the village – passing Spar on the left, continue, go over the river, then take the first right in to Lower Millhayes. St Ivel House is on the corner of the two roads. Turn right and right again into the car park.

From M5 Southbound

Come off at Junction 26, take first exit to Ruggin, and at T junction turn right. Continue for approx a mile and a half along narrow lane, at T junction turn left. Carry on to the top of the hill – turn right at the top, then take the next road on the left signposted Hemyock. As you are approaching the bottom of the steep hill into Hemyock take the second left turning into Lower Millhayes. St Ivel House is on the corner of the two roads. Turn right and right again into the car park.

On arrival at St Ivel House

The entrance to our building isn’t very obvious. From the car park follow the pedestrian ramp on the left-hand side of the building (as you look towards the building from the car park). Then take the first door on the right at the bottom of the pedestrian ramp.

When you enter the building, our office is directly in front of you at the end of the corridor. Press the buzzer and one of us will let you in.
