Clare’s role is to communicate the work of the Blackdown Hills AONB Partnership and to promote activities which help people to enjoy and look after the area. She is responsible for Blackdown Hills AONB’s website, e-newsletter, social media, events guide and other publicity materials, events and media enquiries.

Danielle Wrench - Interim Nature and Wellbeing assistant

Danielle’s role is to liaise with and provide support for participants in the Nature and Wellbeing project across Somerset’s three AONBs. While Kristen Lambert is on maternity leave, Danielle, is the first point of contact for the Nature and Wellbeing project. Danielle is keeping the ball rolling with the activities that Kristen had got underway.

Jackie Vaughan - Office manager

Jackie plans, monitors and manages budgets and the accounting process. She provides secretariat functions to the Blackdown Hills AONB Management Group. Jackie is also responsible for our premises and office management, health and safety, and IT.

James Maben - Project manager – Culm Community Crayfish project

James manages the Culm Community Crayfish project. His work includes supporting volunteers, environmental education, organising wildlife events and survey activities, and supporting community groups on a variety of wildlife and nature conservation projects. James previously led the Blackdown Hills Natural Futures project.

Kristen Lambert - Nature and Wellbeing officer

Kristen looks after our Nature and Wellbeing project. She has been helping members of the local community make the most of the Blackdown Hills’ naturally restorative environment by participating in activities that improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Kristen works across the three Somerset AONB’s.

Lisa Turner - Planning officer

Lisa is responsible for the Blackdown Hills AONB’s landscape and planning functions. She liaises with local planning authorities, responds to planning consultations, develops planning-related guidance and advice, supports community-led planning, and works on landscape character assessments. Lisa also works on developing and reviewing the management plan for Blackdown Hills AONB.

Sammy Fraser - Volunteer coordinator

Sammy is identifying opportunities and training for volunteers, generating interest in volunteering in the Blackdown Hills. She is cultivating lasting links between local groups looking for volunteer support and people looking for volunteering opportunities. Sammy works across Somerset’s three AONBs, one day a week for Blackdown Hills.

As the manager, Tim’s job is very varied. As well ensuring that the Blackdown Hills AONB management plan is delivered, Tim is involved in partnership project development and delivery, bringing investment into the Blackdown Hills and providing support and opportunities for communities & businesses.
